Kenneth Gary Morgan

Ken was born on November 24, 1955 in Kamloops, BC to George and Laurette Morgan. He was raised in Prince Rupert and Burnaby before moving north to Mackenzie. This is where he met his wife of 45 years, Sandra (nee Sindia). The two were married in March of 1977 and soon after welcomed their two kids, K. Travis (Quintina) Morgan and Melanie (Darcy) Switzer into their family while living in Prince George. Ken worked hard to ensure a good life for them all. Ken became an expert excavator and heavy equipment operator while working for Carp Lake Lumber in the 80’s and 90’s and started his own company, Kendra Contracting.

Ken had a passion for motorcycles. He was most proud of his Harley Davidson and would spend his time on the open road with Sandra, Mike Sindia, Robert Ferguson, Dean Love, and many more buddies. He also enjoyed camping with friends and family, spending time at the lake and driving the boat for kids to tube and ski behind. Ken loved rock music from the 70’s and was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of seeing the Rolling Stones in concert. Ken and Sandra traveled together to many places including honeymooning in Barbados and celebrating their anniversary in Las Vegas but Ken’s favorite vacation spot was Mexico. Ken also visited Senegal for work and went to China where he got to climb the Great Wall.

Ken loved his family and being a grandpa. He had 4 grandkids: Abigail Switzer, Isabel Morgan, Therin Morgan and Bennet Switzer. Ken had 5 siblings: George (Verna) Morgen, Anne Ferguson, Judy (Bob) Edgson, Kathy (Jerry) Walsh and Susan Andrist. Ken had numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Everyone in Ken’s family loved spending time with him and enjoyed his company.

A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 483 Gillett St. in Prince George at 2pm with a short reception and light snacks at the church to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ken’s name to the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society.
