OBITUARY

Lis Bente Pedersen

23 September, 1938 – 29 May, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Assman's Funeral Chapel

Lis Pedersen, affectionately known to many as Ollie, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at the age of 87. She has now been reunited with her beloved soulmate, Tage, with whom she shared a life of devotion, laughter, and endless memories.

Born in Denmark on September 23, 1938, Lis carried the warmth, resilience, and spark of her homeland throughout her life. In 1958, she immigrated to Canada, where she married Tage and began building the family that would become her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.

Together, Lis and Tage raised four daughters, who grew up surrounded by their mother’s strength and unwavering love. She cherished sharing the traditions of her homeland, especially preparing Danish smorgs and celebrating customs that connected her family to their roots. Over the years, Lis’ family blossomed, blessing her with seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Each one held a special place in her heart. She delighted in celebrating their milestones, cheering on their dreams, and filling their pockets with treats.

Lis was predeceased by her husband, Tage, and her sister, Helen. Though she endured loss, she never lost her light, and she carried her spark all the way to the end. Those who knew her will remember her as sparkly, joyful, and quick-witted—a woman who brought humour into every room. She had a gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the laughter she inspired, and the countless lives she touched simply by being herself.

She will be deeply missed.

Honoring Lis’ wishes, a formal service will not be held. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life luncheon later this year. Those wishing details are invited to reach out to the family.
