Marieta Silva born June 16th, 1935 passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 26th, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Jose Silva, her sister Alcida Ferreira, her son John Silva, daughters, Delia (Brent) Miskuski, Mary Jo (Alberto) Simoes, Sandy (Alan) Ramsay, eight wonderful grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Joao and Maria Cabral and sister Dolores Freitas. Marieta was born and raised in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal and immigrated to Canada with her husband to start a new adventure in 1970. She was a beautiful seamstress that loved singing in the choir at Sacred Heart Cathedral as well as celebrating her Portuguese heritage. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and all those she touched along the way. A prayer evening will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Wednesday, April 3rd at 7:00pm with a funeral being held at Sacred Heart Cathedral Thursday, April 4th at 10:00am. Interment to follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
