It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Anne Reno, who left us on July 29, 2024. Born in 1962, Marilyn was 61 years old and a beloved member of the McLeod Lake Indian Band and the Prince George community. Despite being removed from the McLeod Lake Indian Band at a young age, Marilyn's spirit remained resilient and true to her roots.
Marilyn was know by many as a woman of honesty and genuineness, with a spirit that was almost innocent in its purity. She had a radiant smile that could light up any room, and her humility and loving nature touched everyone who knew her.
Though life brought her challenges, including the profound loss of her children, Luke and Angel, who both passed before her, Marilyn's strength and warmth never wavered. She found solace and companionship in her many friends throughout Prince George, who will deeply miss her kind heart and gentle presence.
Marilyn's legacy is one of love, resilience, and humility. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held on September 5 where friends and loved ones can come together to celebrate Marilyn's life.
Rest in peace Marilyn. You will be remembered with love and affection by all who knew you.
Marilyn leaves behind her family Calvin Henry Daniel Reno, Robert Daniel Reno (Jacquie Lacey), and Danny William Reno; half-sisters Donna and Maureen Laboucan; nephews Jeremiah and Joshua Reno; niece Vanessa Reno; and cousins Jane Inyallie, Juliana Cooper, Penny Inyallie, Elizabeth Solonas, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is predeceased by her father William Henry Ernest Reno, mother Veronica Anne Reno, grandparents Robert and Victoria Inyallie, brothers William Sylvester Reno and Richard Reno, daughter Angel-Rae Reno, son Luke V.L. Switzer Reno, and husband Erwin Switzer.
