With deep love and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Maxine Ada Wilson, on May 14, 2026, at the age of 99, just shy of her 100th birthday.
Born on August 8, 1926 in Maymont Saskatchewan, Maxine moved to Prince George in 1946 were she met her husband Andrew Wilson.
Maxine was predeceased by her husband Andrew Wilson in 1986. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Norman (Linda) Wilson, Jean Wilson, Allan (Lynn) Wilson and Helen (Ingo) Schlick. A grandmother, and great-grandmother and great great grandmother. Her life was a beautiful reflection of kindness and strength — qualities that touched everyone she met.
Maxine found joy in simple pleasures: baking, making preserves, canning, curling, and cheering for the Blue Jays. She found joy in family gatherings, lively card games, and country music that stirred her soul. Her home was always warm and welcoming, filled with laughter, good food, and love. She had a gift for making everyone feel special, and her sparkling spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
A proud resident of Prince George, Maxine gave her time and heart to her community. She was active in local clubs and charities, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the countless lives she touched.
Special thank you to Parkside Care Home for the comfort and care they provided.
A Celebration of Life will take place on June 6, 2026, at 12:00 Noon. at the Elder Citizens Recreation Association, 1692 10th Avenue, Prince George, B.C., with a light lunch to follow.
The Wilson and Schlick family extends heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love, prayers, and kindness.
