Michael Robert Anderson

The family of Michael Robert Anderson is deeply saddened to announce his passing on September 19, 2026 at the age of 59. Michael, known as Mike, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife Hilda, his sister Susie, family and friends.

Michael was born on August 26,1967 in Smithers BC, and lived in South Hazelton BC, a place he truly loved and was proud to call home.

Mike enjoyed fishing, quadding, camping. He enjoyed getting out into nature, and finding peace in the outdoors. Those simple moments brought him so much happiness. From the time Mike was a young boy, he loved fixing things. As he grew older that natural talent became his livelihood, and he worked as a mechanic. He had a special gift for understanding how things worked and bringing them back to life.

As a husband Mike was more than a husband - he was Hilda's companion, best friend, and a very special part of her life. The memories they made together will always remain in her heart.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that Michael is now at peace. His memory will live on through the people who loved him, the things he taught us, the life he shared with us and the many beautiful memories he left behind.

A celebration of life will be held on Anderson Flats in the Spring of 2027. The family thanks University Hospital of Northern BC for their compassion and care.
