Born on February 16, 1954, in Spokane, Washington, Mickey and her family moved to Canada, where they eventually settled in the Punchaw area. Mickey graduated high school at Briercrest in Caronport, Saskatchewan. After high school, she moved to Vancouver Island, where she met her husband, George, while working on his parents’ farm, and they were married in 1978. They eventually moved back to the Punchaw area, where they raised their children.
Mickey was a homemaker for her husband and children and worked alongside her family as a rancher. Her compassion for others led her to a career as a care aide, where she found great purpose in helping the elderly.
Mickey is survived by her loving husband, George; her children, Daniel, Rachel (Brent), and Katharine (Graydon); five grandchildren; her mother, Anne; her brother, Lee; her sister, Lynn; and their families. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel, and her father, Michael.
A faithful Christian, Mickey’s family finds comfort in knowing she has been warmly welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
