Nic was the heart of our 2025 summer camp kitchen. As Kitchen Team Lead, he kept everything running smoothly, but what we’ll remember most is how he filled the space with laughter. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful son, and little brother.  😢  He looks like a gentle, loving, and sweet soul.  I am a Wheeler cousin of his Grandma Joyce.  Although I never had the opportunity to actually meet you, Scott, Elizabeth  and Zachary, Joyce often shared fond stories whenever we had phone visits throughout the years.  Sending love, healing hugs and so many positive vibes as you all navigate the tough days ahead.  May it give you comfort to  believe that he was welcomed home into the arms of those precious grandparents, and you too will see them all one day. RIP young Nicolas.  🙏 💙

Dear Nick,

Today, I received the heartbreaking news of your passing. You were only 20 years old, and the loss feels both sudden and deeply unfair.
In my eyes, you were a warrior. Every day, you faced challenges with your mental health that many people never fully saw or understood. Yet, despite those struggles, you kept fighting. Your strength, resilience, and determination left a lasting impression on me.
It was a privilege to get to know you and to walk alongside you for a part of your journey. I saw not only the difficulties you carried but also the person behind them: a young man with courage, potential, and a desire to keep moving forward, even when life was incredibly hard.
Your passing has left a profound sadness in my heart. I find comfort in knowing that, for however long our paths crossed, I had the opportunity to witness your bravery and perseverance.
Nick, you taught me that strength isn't always loud. Sometimes strength is simply getting up and fighting another day, even when life is difficult. I will remember your courage and carry it with me in the work I continue to do with other young people.
You will be remembered, Nick. Your life mattered, your struggle mattered, and the impact you had on those who knew you will not be forgotten.
