Pat N. Hansen

Pat was born in Libby Montana on June 10, 1954 to Roy and Carol Hansen.

He had two siblings. His brother Mike(Fran) Nephews Eric and Jason. His Sister Joy Bowers and Nieces Stacey and Kari, as well as a half sister, Carol (Fred).

As a young person that was involved in the saddle club. He loved the truck up the mountains and the camp outs they would have.

In 1970 Pats family moved from Oregon to Burns lake. A year or so later Pat decided to join the Marines. He was given an honourable discharge from the Marines because his mom needed him.

Pat moved back to Burns Lake where he’s soon married and started his family.

Pat moved from Burns Lake to Terrace where he studied to be a heavy duty mechanic.

He moved his family to McKenzie, where they lived for 23 years. Pat worked at the sawmill up there. Pat had three sons, Leroy(Sephra), Benjamin(Janice), and Patrick(Stefanie).

In 1997 they sold their family home and moved to Prince George. Pat worked on the remodel of the Ramada as well as the construction for the Prince George aquatic center.

In the spring of 1999, Pat met the love of his life Deb. At first they never really had a conversation they just love to dance together they would spend time at Vivas or the Cadillac Ranch and dance the night away.

As their love bloomed they knew that they were meant for each other. They began dating on October 17, 1999. Pat proposed to Deb on January 26, 2000 and they were married September 1, 2000. when Pat gained three more son and a daughter: Jonathon(Katelyn), Justin(Jessica), Jermaine(Shy), and Jessica(John). Special mention of his “Little Newfy Girl” Heather Legere.

During their marriage Pat was always willing to try his hand at something new. He loved woodworking, carving, fishing, hunting, and listening to his wife, sing and watching her paint.

In 2001 Pat began working for the Prince George Brain Injured Group. After two years Pat became their community supervisor. He loved his job and enjoyed all the camaraderie that came with it. In 2010 Pat left the Brain Injured Group and decided to become a heavy haul truck operator. He went to Fort McMurray and at Keano College he got his Haul truck license. He then worked for Suncor for two years. He then came home and got his bus driving license where he drove for diversified, then went back to Fort McMurray and drove shuttle buses. When he came home from Fort McMurray he drove bus and limousine for Paxton. Shuttle off and on.

Pat decided he wanted to do something a little different so he took the test for his security license. He worked a short time for Paladin security. He decided to get his class one with air and began driving truck for Arrow Transportation, Papason Trucking, and then for Overhaul Ventures.

I’m March of 2010 Pat was Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

In 2013 he had open heart surgery. A double bypass with an aortic valve replacement.

In 2018, Pat had to have his aortic valve replaced again.

Unfortunately, Pat never really recovered and was in consistent heart failure up until his passing.

Pat also has extended family as far back as New Brunswick and Arizona. His mother-in-law, Sharon Sears, his other mother-in-law, Linda Holmes his brother-in-law Colin Holmes and a Niece Ahna. In Ontario he has a sister-in-law Colleen Vandaele(Joe), and two nieces Hannah and Lilly. As well as a brother-in-law Harry Holmes. In British Columbia he has a brother-in-law Kyle Griffin. In Calgary a sister-in-law, Valerie Gingras and a Niece Kennady.

Pat was also blessed to have more extended family. A sisters-in-law Kathy (Ben) Clamon in Arizona, Donna(Regis) Chabot Baie Verte NB Roxanne(Dean Acton) Legere in Midgic NB, Tracy (Morris) Hicks In Midgic NB, & Melanie( Travis) Lewis in Jolicure NB. Two more Brother-in-law‘s Jerry(Debbie) Goodwin & Eddie(Marjorie) Goodwin both in Baie Verte NB. Along with several nieces and nephews.

Pat was predeceased by his father Roy Hansen, his mother, Carol Benedict, his niece, Cassandra. His father-in-law, Arthur Holmes, and his mother-in-law, Margaret Goodwin-Holmes.

Pat had a special love for the Maritimes. On vacations they would go to Art‘s cottage where he’d be picking mussels, digging for clams and have lobster roasts and corn boils.

Service will be held on Friday November 24, 2023 at 2:00 pm The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 4336 15th Ave Prince George, BC.
