Originally from Bloomfield Ridge, NB, Randy was the son of Virginia Case and the late Ernest Case.
Back east, Randy worked in building construction and loved playing hockey. He was well known for playing for the local Bogeneers, once playing an entire game with a broken collarbone. He also made the local paper after scoring five goals in a game, with the headline “Case Scores 5.”
Randy made Prince George his home for 47 years. When he moved, he began working in the logging industry as a bucker. He later became a feller buncher owner and operator. He had an unbelievable work ethic and would do anything for his family. Providing for them was always his priority, and he worked tirelessly to make sure they were well cared for.
Hunting was Randy’s greatest passion. It was always on his mind, and he had a special love for grouse. He also loved his Wiser’s Deluxe. With Randy finally hanging up his hunting sneakers, the grouse population should now have a chance to replenish.
Following a diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL), Randy received a stem cell transplant from his sister, Cathy Donald. Her gift gave him precious time with his family. He passed away exactly twelve years to the day of his diagnosis.
Randy was known for his infectious laugh, his wonderful sense of humour, and always having a story to tell. Even through his hardest days, he kept people laughing, rarely letting on how much he was struggling and never complaining. His laugh, stories, and quiet strength will live on in the memories of those who loved him.
Randy is survived by his wife, Nicole; his son, Travis; his daughter, Chelsea (Jamie); his granddaughter, Dacia; his mother, Virginia; and his mother-in-law, Cecile. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Ernestine (Bill), Jody (Barb), Norma (Manley), Shirley (Phil), Eva (Dan), Cathy, and Rick (Lyn), along with his extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Ernest Case; his two brothers, Wayne and Brian Case; and his father-in-law, Richard Guignard.
The family extends a special thank you to Randy’s best friend, Jeff, for his love and kindness. Randy and Jeff shared a friendship built on love and loyalty, and each would have done anything for the other.
A celebration of Randy’s life will be held in spring 2027. Details will be shared at a later date.
Randy always said, “You got this.” We’ll carry those words with us, along with his love, laughter, and stories.
Forever loved and deeply missed.
