Randolph Lloyd Verstraete

26 February, 1948 – 16 August, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

First Memorial Funeral Services Lakewood Chapel

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Randy Verstraete on August 16, 2025, in Prince George, British Columbia, at the age of 77.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, on February 26, 1948, Randy lived a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering kindness and a deep devotion to those he loved. His warmth, humor and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Randy is survived by his loving wife Doris; son Trevor; daughter-in-law Nickie; his cherished granddaughter Chloe. He also leaves behind his faithful dog Tika, who brought him endless joy and companionship.

Randy found peace and purpose in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer who cherished time on the course, whether chasing birdies or simply enjoying the fresh air and camaraderie. At home, he took great pride in his lawn and garden—his green thumb was evident in every carefully trimmed hedge and blooming flower bed. His yard was not just a space but a reflection of his care, patience and love for nature. He also had a lifelong love for construction, finding joy in building, fixing and creating. Whether working on a project or lending his skills to help others, Randy’s hands were rarely idle and his craftsmanship reflected his care and dedication.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his thoughtful nature and the way he made others feel truly seen. Whether sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying quiet moments, Randy’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those he held dear.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Children’s Hospital; a cause close to the family’s heart.

"Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they showed, the comfort they shared, and the love they brought into our lives."
