Rita Marie Normandeau

NORMANDEAU - Rita Marie ( nee Samson) November 15th, 1919 - April 11, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is predeceased by her loving husband Lucien (1990) and is survived by her two son's Roger (Sandra), Raymond (Suzanne), grandchildren Jusstine, Jessy, Lucas, and Connor, great grandchildren Austin, Kali and Bowen. Rita was born in Plessisville, Quebec and grew up knowing Lucien as a family friend who worked on their farm for her father. As a young woman she became an accomplished hair stylist who owned & operated her own beauty salon. She later became a professional seamstress who earned a good living, and later she became a teacher. Thirty years after meeting Lucien they finally married and moved to Prince George where he had his business and they started their family. She lived a long life and will be missed by all those who knew her. The family would like to thank her doctors and send a special thank you to all of the exceptional nurses in surgical north and south that made her last days as comfortable as possible. A prayer service will be held on Monday, April 16th, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Assman's Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 at 2:00pm from Sacred Heart Cathedral with Fr. Pier Pandolfo. Interment will follow in Prince George Memorial Park Cemetery.
