OBITUARY

Robert George Curtis (Rowe) Domning

21 September, 1968 – 14 April, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

First Memorial Funeral Services Lakewood Chapel

Robert George Curtis Domning (Rowe)

September 21, 1968 (Valleyview, Alberta) - April 14, 2026 (Prince George, BC)

Robert’s favourite verse was Romans 8:28,

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

On the morning of April 14, 2026, Robert passed into the presence of the God he had trusted all of his life. From the time he was diagnosed with leukemia, he said, “I’m not afraid, because I know where I’m going.”

A follower of Jesus Christ, his faith was an integral part of his life and guided him as illustrated in his kindness, loyalty, and generosity. These qualities were part of Robert’s gift for making friends wherever he found himself.

From cattle wrangling on his uncle's ranch to petting his cat, Robert appreciated time with animals. Over the course of his life, he owned horses, pigs, dogs, cats, and a surprising variety of birds. Whether he was hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing, exploring, or hanging out by the lake, Robert enjoyed the outdoors.

Robert prioritized spending time with family and friends. He was always up for grabbing a coffee, playing a game of cribbage, or creating a meal that brought people together. Spending time in the kitchen trying out a new recipe or cooking an old favourite was an activity Robert savoured.

Robert is survived by his wife, Christine, siblings, Rhonda and Roger (Dawn), and numerous family members (both by birth and by marriage). He was predeceased by his mom and stepdad, Gail and Peter Obrigewitch and his father, Curtis Rowe.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

May Robert’s memory bring comfort to everyone who knew him and remind us of what is important in this life: faith, family, and friends.

“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

Donations in Robert's name can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
