Robert Neufeld passed away on October 23, 2024. He was born in Drake, Saskatchewan, on December 10, 1940, to John and Olga Neufeld, one of 12 siblings. Dad met Eleanor Doolan (mom) and proposed after three dates. They married and moved to Vancouver Island, where Kelly and Karla were born. Dad had a long career as an RN, working in Federal Corrections for several years and then at Saanich Peninsula Hospital in different nursing positions. Dad maintained close, long-term relationships with many of his former co-workers, which was very special to him. Dad was very passionate about his spirituality and music. He was a well-known musician in Victoria & Duncan, BC, playing at many churches in town, most notably Centennial United, and as an organist for the Sands Funeral Homes and Spiritualist Churches in Victoria and Cowichan Valley.
After retirement, Mum and Dad moved to Cobble Hill, where their beloved grandchildren Hailey and Noah came along. Dad loved his grandchildren very much and moved to Mackenzie to be with them after mom passed away. When he left Mackenzie, he returned to a new home in Mill Bay.
In Mill Bay, he became a devoted Kerry Park Curling Club member. He enjoyed his time with them and loved boasting about wins and losses. He appreciated their friendship and social gatherings. He also cherished time with the Cowichan Spiritualist Church (Rev.Patricia Gunn) and met many loving friends there.
Thank you to his neighbour Joyce Vanderstaack for her support and friendship. Also, thank you to Jean and Doug McFarland for their love and friendship and for being there for all of us during such a difficult
time.
Dad leaves behind his much-loved grandchildren, Hailey and Noah Kennedy, and daughters Karla Neufeld (Ron Levesque) and Kelly (Keith Buccini). We know Mum was waiting for him and all their pets on the other side. He also leaves behind cherished friends Bob and Phyllis Bell and their son Mike.
No service at Dad’s request.
