

Ronald Allan Kell was born Oct. 27, 1948, in Melita MB, to Allan and Velda Kell. Ron grew up the eldest of four. One sister, Catherine and two brothers, Wayne and Terry. His family moved to Port Coquitlam where he went to school and met the love of his life Sharon Glass whom he married at the age of 20. While in school he ran track and played the trumpet. His mother always said if he could stand on his head and play the trumpet he would get straight A’s.
After leaving school Ron became a carman first with CP Rail and then BC Rail which would bring him and his young family up north where they met many lifelong friends. Ron retired from BC Rail at the age of 55 and began his second career as a bus driver. First for SD 57 then a few years later with Northern Health who he drove for until the age of 72.
Ron and Sharon had two children, Michelle and Stacey and were married for 55 years. Acquiring six grandchildren and four great grandchildren along the way. His love of music and working with his hands continued throughout his life. He played guitar in a band in his teens and in the Cariboo Christian Riders as an adult. Sharon and Ron learned to square, round and ballroom dance. They also enjoyed travelling together. Ron was always learning a new skill, woodworking, leather carving, archery, guitar, motorcycle riding, singing and more.
He will always be remembered for his kindness, sense of humour, storytelling and sense of adventure.
Ron was predeceased by his father Thomas Allan Kell, mother Velda Tapping brother Wayne Kell, mother-in-law Nell Glass, and brother-in-law Norman Glass.
Besides his loving wife Sharon, Ron is survived by daughter Michelle Chapman, and son Stacey Kell (Colette), grandchildren Michael Chapman (Amber), Crystal Chapman, Thomas Kell (Kaylee), Cody Kell (Alyssa), Jenna Kell, and Natalie Kell. Great grandchildren Emma Williamson, Lily Chapman, Macy Chapman, and James Kell, also, his siblings Catherine Wildeman and Terry Kell.
