Terrence Michael Scheck

To those who knew and loved him, Terry was affectionately known as "Governor," "TM," "Uncle T," and, after his granddaughters were born, simply "Grandpa."

Terry was the eldest of five sons born to Mike and Eva Scheck in Fort St. John, British Columbia. He was raised on the family farm in Sunrise, where he developed a strong work ethic, a love of the outdoors, and a deep appreciation for family. He spent most of his life in the Peace Country before moving to Prince George in 1989, where he made his home for the remainder of his life.

Terry dedicated 43 years of service to BC Hydro. Although he officially retired at the age of 63, retirement didn't last long—he happily returned to work for another two years. Throughout his career, he became well known across the Peace Country, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met through his kindness, sense of humour, and genuine character.

Sports played a significant role throughout Terry's life. As a young man, he was a member of Fort St. John's first minor hockey team and continued to enjoy baseball, golf, curling, and skiing with his family over the years. He cherished time spent camping, fishing, and sharing stories from his childhood, creating memories that his family will treasure forever.

Above all else, Terry was most proud of his family. His greatest accomplishments were his two daughters and three granddaughters. He was their biggest supporter, always encouraging them, celebrating their achievements, and making sure everyone else knew how proud he was.

Terry's quick wit and infectious sense of humour helped carry those around him through life's most difficult moments. Even in his final days, he was still making jokes and bringing smiles to the faces of those who loved him.

Terry will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generosity, his laughter, and the countless lives he touched along the way. Terry is survived by his wife Lynn; his daughters Tracy and Tanya (Matt); his granddaughters Kendalle (Joel), Madison, and Lottie; and his best furry friend Bear.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Cardiac Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit at UHNBC for their outstanding compassion, care, and support during this difficult time.
