Beloved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to so many, William Robert Craig Bourque died suddenly on May 18th in a vehicle accident on Highway 16. Our hearts are broken, and we are profoundly thankful for his life.
William was born in Brandon, Manitoba the family moved to Prince George January 2002 when he was about 3 months old. He had two older sisters who were delighted by his arrival, even though he was a boy. Later, he was thrilled to become a big brother to his younger sister and was happy no longer to be the youngest in the family.
William was blessed with a strong body and excellent hand-eye coordination, which fueled his love of basketball and volleyball. He attended Cedars Christian School for eight years before transferring to D.P. Todd to complete his education. He also loved music and continued playing volleyball long after leaving school.
He was hard-working, generous, loyal to his friends, and kind. He loved deeply, cared about injustice, and was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humour.
William was looking forward to many things in life, including one day having a spouse and children, and going fishing this summer. Life was not always easy for him, but he was deeply loved.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Helen; his sisters, Annie (Nathan), niece, Ellie; Jen, and Isobel; his maternal grandmother; his aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather William Craig (2025) and his paternal grandparents Timothy (1985)/Jessie-Ann Roberta (2015) Bourque.
The service of remembrance is Sunday May 24th, 2026, 2 pm at the Evangelical Free Church Prince George BC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Foundry Prince George, or a charity of your choice.
