Levina Jane Hawkins

On Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 3:04pm, Levina Jane Hawkins transitioned home to be with our Heavenly Father.

Levina was born October 17, 1940 to the late Joseph and Frances Patterson Witherspoon.

Levina accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age at First Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro, NC.

Levina was a wife, loving mother of four, and a homemaker. She loved playing the organ, singing, talking, spending time with her children and siblings.

Levina worked at Belk Department Store until she retired. She loved serving and helping people.

On August 8, 1960, Levina married the love of her life, Lester Hawkins, Sr. and through this union created four children.

Levina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Lester Hawkins, Jr; two sisters; one brother; and two great grandchildren.

Levina leaves to mourn three children, Paulette Mason and husband, Everett; Paul Hawkins, Sr and wife, Linda; and Denise Hawkins-Brown and husband, Bobby; siblings, Mary Magdeline Fuller, Josephine Ross, Ted Witherspoon, Mary Quander, and Roger Witherspoon; 13 grandchildren, Tamishio, Andrew, Paul Jr, Channing, Loren, Andre, Devon, Bobby Jr, Shanelle, Serryle, Kaon, Everett Jr and Taran; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a host of family and friends.

Homegoing services will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton with Rev. Harold Calloway officiating. Following the services Levina will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Lester, Sr. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.

Friends may gather with the family from 10:00am until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
