Agnes L. Murphy

ProvidenceAgnes L. (McCormick) Murphy, 84 passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Elmhurst Extended Care in Providence, Rhode Island. She was the wife of the late John R. Murphy. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose McCormick. Agnes was an information specialist at Crossroads Rhode Island for many years prior to her retirement. Previously she was employed by the Providence Journal, Cherry & Webb and PARI Independent Living Center. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rosemary and Joseph Petrucci, Joanne and John Williamson, Elaine and James Mountain, Vincent and Rachel Murphy. She is also survived by her grandchildren Pamela Rich, Matthew Petrucci, Erin Murphy, James, Thomas and Sarah Mountain. She was the sister of Sister Rose Corde McCormick of Maryknoll, New York and the late William McCormick, Thomas McCormick and Helen Beaudry. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Augustine Church, Mount Pleasant Ave, Providence. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours, Monday 4-7 pm.
