Born in Pace del Mela, Messina, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco and Maria (Rizzo) Ieni; husband of Maria (Giorgianni) Ieni for 50 years; father of Frank Ieni and his late wife Santina, Sal Ieni and his wife Joannie, Carmelo Ieni and his wife Debra, and Maria Andreozzi and her husband Mark; grandfather of 8; brother of Nicola Ieni, Domenica Sindoni and the late Pasquale and Giuseppe Ieni.
Mr. Ieni had worked in jewelry manufacturing and as a baker for many years before retiring.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 4-7 p.m. with his funeral on Monday at 8 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence, followed by graveside burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
