Providence Arminda Dias Cabral Metts, 81, of Early Street, passed away Thursday evening at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in the Cape Verde Islands, she was a daughter of the late Antonio M. and Ernestina D. (Cabral) Pereira. Arminda was employed in the environmental services department at Rhode Island Hospital for over twenty years before retiring. The cornerstone of the Freitas family, she leaves her best friend of over fifty years, Emilia Freitas, as well as Guilherme Freitas, Francisca Freitas, Gil Freitas and Sage Lake. She also leaves her sisters, Laura Correia, Yvette Andrade Pereira, and brothers, Jose Antonio Andrade Pereira, Otillo Andrade Pereira, Domingos Mendes Pereira, and godchildren, Jennifer Freitas and Sal Monteiro, Jr. The funeral will be held Monday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Paul Church, Cranston. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence, Visiting hours Sunday, 5 - 8 pm.
