Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late David and Reva (Gindin) Spunt. She was a life-long resident of the area. Always yearning for more knowledge, Barbara was a freelance radio reporter for many years covering both politics and artistic endeavors such as architecture.
Survivors include: three children, Amy Forman of Georgia, Gary Bernstein of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and Laura Allard of Malden, Massachusetts and four grandchildren, Jessica Bethel, Ryan Forman, Joshua Bernstein and Joey Allard.
She was the sister of the late Jerome Spunt.
Barbara was a unique, brilliant, creative, spirited, and artistic woman with an uncanny wit and engaging sense of humor. She was able to deeply connect and impact people wherever she went. Her perseverance gained her interviews with icons in their fields. Barbara was a great story teller, creating wonderfully fanciful stories for her children. She will be remembered as a deeply loving and passionate person. Her smile lit up the room, giving a glimpse of the magnificent spirit she embodied. She is and will always be beloved.
A Graveside Burial will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1469 Post Rd., Warwick, RI.
