
COOPER, BEATRICE “BEA” (WEISS), 89, passed away early morning April 24, 2013. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and worked as a legal secretary and stenographer. She later married Bernard Cooper in 1950 and lived in Rome, New York for 35 years, and then moved to Davie, Florida. She moved to Rhode Island in 2009 and lived at Greenwich Farms at Warwick. Bea is survived by her two sons, Joel Cooper and his wife Cynthia of Exeter, Rhode Island and Jonathan Cooper of Syracuse, New York; grandchildren, Rachael Cooper and her husband James Belding of Cambridge, MA, Dr. Joshua Cooper of Columbia, SC and Adam Cooper and his wife Danielle of San Francisco, CA; and great grandchildren Jacob and Yael. Bea was a very active and social person, having mastered emails communicating with her distant family through technology. She also produced her own birthday and holiday cards. She loved to read books, newspapers, play cards, Mah Jong, dine and socialize with her friends. She was a member of several synagogues, Hadassah and social clubs in the areas where she lived. She volunteered for the public schools and Senior Center in Rome, New York. Her most important interest was her family and delighted in spending holidays and social times with them. Her funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel, 458 Hope St., Providence. She will be buried next to her husband Bernard in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or RI Chapter of Hadassah, 2845 Post Rd., suite 307, Warwick, RI 02886. Shiva will be observed on Friday, immediately following the service at the Cooper residence
