Benedetto A. Volpe

Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Benedetto and Lucrezia (Suale) Volpe.

Benny was a carpenter for many years before retiring. He was also a WW II Army Veteran, a member of both the Local 94and the Kelley-Gazerro VFW Post and a communicant of St. Rocco Church.

He was the father of Barbara Roach and her husband Joseph, Jr., and the late John and Betty Ann Volpe; grandfather of Joseph III; brother of Barbara Erb and the late Frank, Nicholas, Angelo and Carlo Volpe, Angela Puopolo, Josephine Palaski, Rose Impagliazzo, Nancy Golini, Dorothy Bevilacqua and Mafalda Carnevale; brother in law of the late Rose and Al Ricci and uncle to several nieces and nephews.

His funeral and visitation will be held Thursday at 9:00 am from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial with Military Honors to follow in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Benny’s memory to the Bridge at Cherry Hill, Attn. Activities, 1 Cherry Hill Road, Johnston, RI 02919.
