Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Henrique Dalomba and Gertrude Joia.
My mom was a professional seamstress for many years, an amazing cook and she enjoyed feeding everyone with her special recipes made with love. She also loved having company in her home, sitting with family, sipping wine and champagne was her favorite. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her and they will miss their Mamie and Mémé forever. She was also known as Tante, Titia and Mana by so many.
Her favorite recreation and her passtime in her later years was knitting and she always had a knitted scarf to gift to someone.
Cared for by her daughter Gina, for the last 10 1/2 years, Vinda was always immaculately kept and happy to be by Gina’s side at all times. Vinda, recently moved back to Rhode Island and the joy on her face when she arrived at her new home cannot even be described in words. We know she is at peace now. You will be sorely missed Mama. 💔
She was the beloved mother of Gina Lepore and her husband Anthony, with whom she lived, and cherished grandmother of Audrey, Alexandra and Xavier and great-grandmother to Ariana, Ava, Adrian and Dahlia. She was also the sister of Jean Dalomba, Ida Joia and the late Manuel Dalomba, Casmiro Dalomba and Idalina Melo.
Her visitation and funeral will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial to follow in North Burial Ground.
