

Warwick Bernadette (Grenne) Arruda, 75, of Woodstock Drive, died Friday at the Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late John Arruda, Sr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Mae X. (Vincent) Greene, she lived in Warwick for the past fifty years, previously living on the East Side of Providence. Mrs. Arruda was a receptionist for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island for many years, retiring in 1995. A vibrant and loving member of her family, and extended family, she was dearly loved by those who knew her, and will be sadly missed by all. She was a communicant of Saint Timothy Church, Warwick. Bernadette leaves her two loving sons, John Arruda, Jr. and his wife Roxanne, of North Smithfield, and Joseph Arruda of Cranston. She was the mother of the late Gerald R. Arruda, and also leaves his wife, Lisa Arruda, and her beloved grandchildren, Kyle Arruda and Bethany Arruda, of North Kingstown. She also leaves three brothers, Gerald Greene and Joseph Greene, both of Providence, Norman Greene of California; four sisters, Elsie Vadnais of Cranston, Rita Walther of Fiskville, Anita Tasca of East Providence, and Patricia Valis of Smithfield. She was a sister of the late Charles Greene and Carol Angarella. The funeral will be held Wednesday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Burial will be Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visiting hours Tuesday, 4 - 8 pm.
