

Brigida DiGiovangiacomo, 83, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 3, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael DiGiovangiacomo and daughter of the late Ilma (Colasanto) Lopreiato.
In her early career she worked at Industrial National Bank, followed by 15 years of accounting at her brother-in-law’s restaurant, Antonio’s. Her last career move took her to Gem Plumbing & Heating. There she managed accounts payable and receivable for over 30 years before retiring.
She was a tremendous cook and could whip up a meal in record time. Sunday dinners were a must and were the highlight of her family’s week. All were welcomed in her home and never left hungry. She enjoyed all New England sports teams, in particular the Red Sox and Patriots, and would watch every game. She loved Broadway theater and shared that love with her daughters, attending numerous musicals with them both locally and in New York. Her biggest joy was attending all sporting and recreational events of her grandchildren, who were the absolute loves of her life.
She was the devoted mother of Lisa M. Cardente and her husband Michael J., Linda Zednik and her husband Thomas, Sr., Bridget Tootell and her late husband Thomas and Michelle Calabro, cherished grandmother of Thomas Zednik, Jr., Michael C. Cardente, Liliana and Ariana Calabro. She was also the twin sister of Giovanna “Jenny” Todisco and Marie Zarrella.
Her visitation will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 9:00 AM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence followed by a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
