

South Kingstown Bryan V. Maguire, Sr., 70, of South Kingstown, died Monday, June 6, 2016, after an inspirational fight against cancer. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late John E. and Concetta (Ferraro) Maguire. He was a loving, devoted and generous son, husband, father, father-in-law, brother, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law. He is survived by his devoted wife, Helen M. (Fitzpatrick) Maguire and his children, John F. Maguire of Enfield, Ct; Cathleen E. Maguire-Beaulieu and her husband Jonathan of Asbury Park, NJ and Bryan V. Maguire, Jr and his wife Jackie of Eatontown, NJ. Bryan is also survived by his sister, Lucia (Maguire) Peek and her husband George S. Peek of Cape Canaveral, Fl., and his brothers-in-law, Edward and Michael Fitzpatrick. He was predeceased by his two brothers-in-law, Arthur and Paul Fitzpatrick. He also leaves behind his dearly loved grandchildren, Bryan and Conor Maguire. Bryan served in the U. S. Army and held various staff and operational responsibilities including special intelligence, military justice, and administration in both the United States and the Philippines. He was a proud graduate of St. Pius Grammar School, La Salle Academy, Providence College and earned his Law Degree from Suffolk University School of Law. Bryan was admitted to the Bar of the State of Connecticut in 1977 and was licensed to Practice before the Federal District Court, Northern District of Connecticut in 1977. Bryan worked as counsel with Aetna Life & Casualty Law Department until 1993. And before retiring in 2006, served as Vice President and Corporate counsel for Prudential Property and Casualty. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a long time communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, where he served as a Eucharist Minister. Bryan was also a dedicated member of the Christian Brothers community in Narragansett, RI. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam: May his soul be on the right side of God. Visiting hours will be Thursday, 4:00 – 8:00 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, at 10:00 am, in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial, with military honors, will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Wakefield.
