Darlene Vieira

She was the daughter of the late Maurice and Mildred (Thompson) O’Brien and the loving wife of the late Dennis J. Vieira. Darlene was the cherished mother of Melody Vieira and Melissa N. Botelho and adored grandmother of Macayla Botelho, Megan Florio, Mathieu Florio (NPPD) and Marco Botelho, Jr., and great-grandmother of Ava-Marie Richards. She was the sister of the late Maureen King and Patricia Langlois.

She loved spending time at home with her family and pets, especially her grandchildren and great grandchild, whether it be on the phone or spending time with them when they came to visit. She was an animal lover and would have taken in all of the animals if she could. She enjoyed feeding the birds, squirrels, raccoons, and even chipmunks that would visit her on the back porch. She also loved being by the beach, listening to the waves and boats as they came in, and collecting seashells. She also enjoyed her quiet time drinking her tea and watching her favorite tv shows. She will be missed by her two daughters, her grandchildren, friends, and everyone that knew her.

Her visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Darlene’s memory to the North Providence Animal Shelter, 900 Smithfield Road, North Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.
