Providence David J. Lisker, , 64, of Whitford Avenue, passed away peacefully Monday evening, April 30, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Patricia J. (McNamara) Lisker. They were happily married for thirty-seven years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Arnold and Viola (Archambault) Lisker. David was a proud firefighter for the Providence Fire Department for twenty-three years, serving most of his career at the Broad Street Station. He also served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Providence Firefighters Union, Local 799, the Providence Permanent Fireman's Relief Association, and the Retired Providence Police and Firefighters Association. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Beside his wife Pat, he leaves three devoted sons, Daniel J. Lisker and his wife Jasmine, David J. Lisker, and Matthew A. Lisker; two sisters, Carol Lisker and Judith Moniz; and two loving grandchildren, Cali and Maxwell Lisker. He was a brother of the late Gerry Lisker, Kenny Lisker, and Eleanor Scribner. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 7:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial, with military honors, will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Friday, 4 - 8 pm.
