Born on July 9th, 1940 in Providence R.I. he was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 2nd Armored Calvary Regiment from 1958-1960 in Germany before working for a number of years with the US Army Corps of Engineers.
He retired from the VA Medical Center in Providence after decades of service.
He is survived by his son Richard and his wife Alexis, his son David, former companion and lifelong friend Nancy, as well as his sister Martha. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Rita Unsworth and his brother Raymond Unsworth.
His visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 pm in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
