North Providence: Lubbers, Edward B., 51, of Laurel Drive, passed away Wednesday at Home and Hospice Care Center of Rhode Island in Providence after a 3 1/2 year battle with cancer. He was thebeloved husband of Debra A. (Troll) Lubbers for 16 years. Born in Long Island, NY, he was the son of Edward Lubbers of Long Island, and the late Charlotte (Smith) Lubbers-Harrison. Edward was a postal clerk for the Providence Main Post Office on Corliss Street for eleven years. He previously served with the US Merchants Marines for five years. He is also survived by his stepson, David Cropper, III; and his siblings, Gordon Lubbers, Dianne Peterson, Carolyn Feasel, Peter Lubbers and Cathi Radenberg. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 pm in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6h Floor, Brookline,MA 02445 in his memory would be appreciated.
