

Betty taught at the Mary Fogarty School for most of her 32 ½ year tenure with the Providence School Department and later at St. Philip’s in Greenville and St. Leo’s in Pawtucket. Prior to her illness, she enjoyed walking, reading, vacationing and mostly being with friends and family. She was a communicant of St. Augustine Church, Providence, and St. Joseph’s in Dayville, CT. She was a graduate of St. Ann School, St. Patrick Academy and Rhode Island College.
Betty is survived by her three loving children and five wonderful grandchildren, namely Kerry Foley, her husband Patrick and their children Jack and Maggie of Westport, CT; Jay Corrigan, his wife Jenniefer and their children Caroline and Michael of Smithfield; and Brenna Tripodi, her husband Timothy and their daughter Odette of Putnam, CT. She is also survived by her sister, Camille Turcotte and her husband Paul of Woonsocket; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Gallone of Cranston; her in-laws, Jane and Paul Corrigan of Dayville, CT; and her extended family and lifelong friends. She was the sister of the late Anthony M. Gallone, Esq.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 4-7 p.m. with her funeral on Monday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence, followed by interment in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
