Born in Providence, Ernest was the son of the late William and Frances (Lambert) Addison.
Ernest served his country proudly in the Army, during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a Stevedore for the Port of Providence before his retirement.
Besides his wife, Ernest is survived by his sons, Ernest, Shawn and Wayne Britto, two sisters, Ginger Addison and Barbara Gibbs, a brother Richard Addison, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Crystal Britto, and brother of the late Joyce Dias, William Addison and Norman Lambert.
Visitation Tuesday, beginning at 9 am, with a funeral home service to follow at 11 am in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Burial with military honors at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial in Exeter.

At the request of the family, there will be no repass following the burial.
