

Cranston -- Trudelle, Ernest L. "Ernie", 83, of Park Avenue died Tuesday at Jane Browne Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Thelma B. (Correia) Trudelle. They had been married for 34 years. Born in New Bedford, MA a son of the late Leonide and Yvonne (Leduc) Trudelle, he had lived in Cranston for the past twenty five years. Mr. Trudelle was a Plant Foreman for the City of Providence in the Department of Public Works for 20 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Laborers Union, Local 1033. He volunteered for St. Patrick Church, St. Patrick School and Mary House for 20 years. He also served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick's. He was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus-Fatima Assembly. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. Besides his wife he leaves his children Robert Trudelle of Portland, OR, Michael Trudelle of Wrens, GA, Richard L. Rogers of Tampa, FL, Edward T. Souza of Charlestown, John A. Souza of Cranston, Wayne A. Trudelle of Pawtucket, Patricia L. Kidd of Houston, TX, and Taffy Simone of Walpole, MA; a sister Anita Barrett of Plainfield, NH, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His funeral will be Saturday at 8:45am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St. Burial, with military honors, will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
