

Narragansett- Remington, Eugene A. Jr., 84, of Narragansett and Osprey, FL, passed away on Sunday at home among his beloved family. He was the devoted and loving husband of Mary M. (Lang) Remington for over 61 years.Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Eugene A. and Anna F. (Rushe) Remington, Sr.Besides his loving wife, Mary, he was the cherished father of four daughters, Mary R. Mercier and her husband Richard of New York, Patricia A. Bean and her husband William of Narragansett, Sharon R. Ford and her husband James of Narragansett, Kathleen A. D'Amico and her husband Peter of Vermont, and his son Michael A. Remington and his wife Patrice of Warwick. He was the brother of Mary E. Little and her husband Walter of Providence, James Remington of Providence, the late Andrew Remington of Warwick and the late Francis Remington of Providence. He was the most caring and loving grandfather of 13, great grandfather of 1 and uncle to many nieces and nephews.Gene served his country proud in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then had a 40 year career with the Narragansett Electric Company. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Church in Narragansett."Gramp' enjoyed a full and joyous life including summers at the beach with his family, attending countless sporting events for his grandchildren, and winters in Florida with his wonderful friends and family. His presence was a joy to all he knew and he will be truly missed.His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 am from the Russell J. .Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Veronica Chapel, Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Burial with military honors will be in the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
