Evelyn Davis

Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Annie (Miller) Lightman. Evelyn met her future husband at a party in Boston, and they were married in 1965. After attending Johnson & Wales Business School, she had a brief career as a legal secretary before discovering her true calling as a talented artisan of home décor. Evelyn’s 50-year career took her throughout New England before she retired in 2020. Her passion for her craft was only exceeded by her love for her family. Evelyn cherished the simple things in life—decorating her home, spending time with family and friends and baking her famous apple pies.

She is survived by her three children: Suzanne Davis-Riley and her husband Kevin of Warwick, RI; Michael Davis and his wife Kristen of Warwick, RI; and Paul Davis of Arlington, MA. She also leaves her grandson, Richard, along with several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Cecil “Lenny” Lightman.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel, 458 Hope Street, Providence, RI. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private.
