Born in Itri, Italy, he moved to Providence's Federal Hill as a young boy, and later Cranston. He was the son of the late Pietro and Elena (DiMascolo) Maggiacomo; father of Joseph F. and Stephanie R. Maggiacomo; brother of Rosalba Lombardi and her husband Rocco, Tina Biondi and her late husband Elio, Piero Maggiacomo, Sirio Maggiacomo and his wife Lillian; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Freddy worked many years as a foreman and truck driver for DiZoglio Paper and then as an independent driver. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Fulda, Germany in 1968.
An avid fan of all sports, Freddy will always be remembered as having a big heart and was much loved by his many friends and family. He leaves behind his loving children, Stephanie and Joseph Maggiacomo.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. with a funeral on Thursday at 10 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Please omit flowers.
