

NarragansettFrancis J. "Frank" McGuinn, 87, of Chestnut Avenue, died peacefully Friday at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia G. (Laing) McGuinn. They had been married for nearly sixty three years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Frank G. and A. Gertrude (Angell) McGuinn, Frank lived in Narragansett for the past twenty-six years, previously living in the Rumford section of East Providence. Mr. McGuinn was an Insurance Representative for the John Hancock Life Insurance Company for thirty-five years, retiring in 1981. He served his country proudly in the United Stated Army during World War II. Frank was a communicant of Saint Mary, Star of the Sea Church, Narragansett, and a former communicant of Saint Margaret Church, Rumford, where he was a former volunteer youth basketball coach in the C.Y.O. league, and was recognized as the C.Y.O. Man of the Year in 1955. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, East Providence Council #1528, for many years. Beside his wife Pat, he leaves three daughters, Kathleen A. (Robert) Dod of Barrington, Robyn O. Zwolinski of North Kingstown, Marianne M. (John) Doyle of Warwick; a son, Michael R. (Mary) McGuinn of Smithfield; a sister, Ann A. Durante of Narragansett; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Madelyn G. Yena. The funeral will be held Tuesday, at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt.117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Mary, Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road Narragansett. Burial, with military honors, will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Monday, 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to Saint Mary, Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, RI 02882 in his memory will be appreciated.
