Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Sven and Alice (Ohsberg) Antonson.
Harold was member of the IBEW Local 99 for 40 years and later worked as Deputy Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Providence for 20 years. He was an avid traveler, former president of Providence Youth Hockey, and had coached girls’ softball. He was a U.S. Veteran of the Korean War.
He was the father of Robert E. Antonson and his wife Tania, Steven J. Antonson, Sr. and his wife Lori, and Carlene Iannuccillo and her husband Raymond; grandfather of Kristen, Robert, Steven Jr., Shawn, Alexis, Ray Ray and Kyle. He was also the brother of the late Robert Antonson and Alice Malone.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30 am from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence with a service in the funeral home at 9:00 am. Burial, with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. VISITATION FRIDAY 4:00 PM-7:00 PM.
