Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, she later migrated to Brooklyn, New York, before ultimately settling in North Providence. She was the beloved daughter of the late Justin Mary and Yvonne Paul.
Jacqueline was the heart of her family—a true matriarch whose strength, wisdom, and unconditional love shaped generations. Strong-willed yet deeply caring, she had the biggest heart and created a space where everyone felt welcomed. Her home was truly a home away from home, filled with love, laughter, and comfort for all who entered.
She found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. Jacqueline loved cooking meals that brought her family together, solving crossword puzzles, and enjoying her favorite game shows and beloved soap operas. She also had a passion for fashion designing, expressing her creativity with grace and style.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Jacqueline trusted in God throughout her life. Her faith guided her, strengthened her, and shined through in the way she loved and cared for others. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing she has been called home to rest in the Lord’s eternal peace.
She was the beloved mother of Steve J. Mary and his wife Paula; Mahadya J. Mary and her partner Lionel Lamarre; Jacques Mary; Kymara R. Mary-Owusu and her husband Kwame; Camille N. Cesar-Bush and her husband Edwin; and Kattia Alexandre.
She was the cherished grandmother of Juan Martinez, Ethan Mary, Dylan Coq, Chloe Mary-Owusu, Kayden Mary, Kenji Mary-Owusu, Ricky Bellevue, Xavier Mary, Manny Azard, Semaj Cearc, Noah Cearc, and Larissa Lemite.
Sister of: Marie Florence Cayo, Yolette Paul, Alexsandra Papillion, Sergio Mary, and Carlo Mary. She was predeceased by her dear siblings Ghislaine Jacob, Clara Paul, Felix Mary, and Volney Mary.
Jacqueline was a devoted and loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she held close to her heart.
Though she has departed from this earthly life, her love remains a blessing to all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, strength, and compassion will live on in her family forever.
