

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Emidio and Theresa (Boino) Bernardo.
Jim was a Finance Director for the City of Providence and later worked for the State of Rhode Island for many years before retiring.
He enjoyed going to Gregg’s with Barbara, playing golf and spending time with his great grand-dogs, Bella and Sam. He was also a big Boston sports fan.
He was the loving father of Lisa Bernardo of North Providence, James R. Bernardo, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Coventry and the late Steven Bernardo and cherished grandfather of Cara Bernardo (Nick), Raymond Bernardo (Gabby) and Cory Bernardo (Kristen) and great grandfather of 2.
The family would like to extend their great appreciation for the wonderful care and compassion shown to them by the staff at Cherry Hill Manor.
His visitation will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 9:30 AM in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence followed by a Memorial Mass in the church at 11:00 am.
Burial will be private.
