Joan R. Matteson

Warwick Joan R.Matteson, 67, of Carriage Hill Road, died peacefully Wednesday at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert M. Matteson. They were married for forty-two years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Isabelle F. (Young) Carroll, she lived in Warwick most of her life. Joan was the owner of Hairlines Salon on Centerville Road for twenty years before retiring. Joan always had a warm smile and was happiest with her children and grandchildren around her. Beside her husband Bob, she leaves three sons, Michael R. Matteson, Daniel J. Matteson, and Jonathan M. Matteson; two daughters, Michelle R. Cotroneo and Danielle J. Turnbull; three brothers, Robert J. Carroll, Paul E. Carroll and Kevin C. Carroll; and four grandsons, Joseph and Alec Cotroneo and Michael and Joshua Matteson. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 7:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Saint Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial will be in Brayton Cemetery, Post Road, Warwick. Visiting hours Friday, 4 - 8 pm.
