John J. Ferrara

John J. Ferrara 88, of 2 Hemlock Drive, Johnston passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at home on November 28, 2011 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband for 60 years to Gloria (Zangari) Ferrara.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Louise (Esposito) Ferrara.

John worked in the jewelry industry for many years, including Curtis Mfg. Co. before retiring in 1988. He served honorably during WW II in the Army as a Medical Technician and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

John was well respected and loved by all who knew him and offered his help and friendship to everyone in need.

He was the father of two devoted daughters, Jean Marie and Leisa Ferrara and brother and life long friend of Anthony Ferrara. He also leaves his adored dog, Teddy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11:00 am in St. Brigid Church, 1231 Plainfield Street, Johnston. Graveside burial, with Military Honors to follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Visiting hours respectfully omitted.
