John Francis Mulhern, Jr

John F. Mulhern, Jr., 76, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Cherry Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Johnston. He was the loving husband of the late Sallie A. (Gately) Mulhern. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John F. Sr., and Mary (Toolin) Mulhern. John began a 30 year career in banking, starting as a teller, then worked his way to becoming a Branch Manager, and then Assistant Vice President. He worked for Domestic Bank, Bank Boston, and Citizens Bank. Most recently he was employed as a daytime security supervisor at the Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence for 14 years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Attleboro Rotary while working in banking and was a volunteer with the Junior Achievement Program for several years. John was a Civil War buff and an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots Fan. He leaves his two children, John M. Mulhern and his companion, Susan, of Pawtucket and Christine A. (Mulhern) McCarthy and her husband, Kenneth, of Warwick; a brother, Thomas J. Mulhern and his wife Barbara, of Greenville; a sister, Kathleen M. Mulhern, of Connecticut; and two granddaughters, Caitlin and Emily McCarthy. His funeral will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in Saint Mary Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
