John Seddon Murray

John Seddon Murray, 87 of Johnston, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Heritage Hills Nursing Center, in Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Rita (Cardarelli) Murray. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William Murray, Sr. and Elizabeth (Seddon) Murray. John served his country proudly aboard the U.S.S. Vicksburg CL-86 with the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a truck driver in the Teamsters Union Local # 251 and was a faithful communicant of Mary, Mother of Mankind Church. Mr. Murray cherished his family and loved his grandchildren. He leaves his daughters, Patricia A. Murray, Brenda M. Carnevale, and her husband, Alfred, and Rita A. Maron, and her husband, Thomas; two sisters, Alice Charello and Elizabeth Zambarano; four grandchildren, Chelsea Morgan, and her husband, Adam, Derek Maron, and his wife, Maressa, Mackenzie Maron and Michael Carnevale; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. John was also the brother of the late William Jr., David, Alex, James, and Peter Murray, Mary Thacker and Agnes Wells. His funeral will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 am, in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours will be Friday, February 5, 2016 from 5-7pm.
