Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John and Martha (Hough) Rock; beloved husband of Viola A. (Parkis) Rock for 54 years; devoted father of Lydia A. Jackson and husband Shelby, and John J. Rock; loving grandfather of Shelby and Hayley; brother of Louise Casey and the late William Wilby and Lillian Wood.
Mr. Rock had been a cook at the Women & Infants Hospital before retiring and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Visitation will be held Monday, 4-7 p.m. with his funeral on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A service will follow at 10 a.m. with burial in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Please omit flowers. www.pontarellimarinofunerals.com
