

North Kingstown John F. Seddon, 84, of Bradenton, FL and North Kingstown, passed into eternal life on December 25, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of John F. and Mary S. (O'Malley) Seddon. He retired as a Battalion Chief of the Providence Fire Department, where he was cited on many occasions for outstanding service. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Elaine (Maynert)Seddon, and his three daughters, Kathy A. Nealon (John), Donna S. Nabb (George), and Susan M. Keimig (John), and a sister, MaryAnne Brown. He was predeceased by his sister, Hope A. McGurn. He is also survived by his cousin, Robert O'Malley, who he considered to be his brother. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and was predeceased by a grandson, and a great-grandson. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Bradenton Elks Club, Lodge 1511, the Bradenton Anna Maria Moose Lodge 2188, and was a gold member of the Pawtuxet Athletic Club. He was also a member of the Retired Providence Police and Firefighters Association, the Providence Permanent Firemans Relief Association, Laborers International Union Local 1033 and the Providence Firefighters IAFF Local 799.The funeral will be held Friday, at 8:00 am, from Russell J. Boyle& Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Saint Veronica Chapel, Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Burial, with military honors, in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Thursday, 4 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - RI Chapter, 1210 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston RI 02920 or RI Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence RI 02907 in his memory will be appreciated.
