WINKLEMAN, JOSEPH M., 69, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. He was the husband of Roberta (Zeltzer) Winkleman; they were married for 40 years. He was born in Providence, a son of the late Charles and Jennett (Wainer) Winkleman.
Joseph was a graduate of Classical High School and George Washington University.
He was the owner of Winkleman Travel in Cranston for over 30 years.
Joseph was a faithful member of Touro Fraternal and Congregation Beth Sholom, was a former member of the Masons and Shriner, and was a Cub Scout Master of Pack 104. He was a past president of the Rhode Island Vaad.
He was a big sports fan following the Providence Bruins, Pawtucket Red Sox, and 4 Boston teams.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Dov Winkleman, Freda Ronkin (Daniel), Abby Cohen (Reuven), Ari Winkleman (Kelly) and Charles Winkleman; brother Henry Winkleman and sister-in-law Arlene; grandchildren Atira, Maor, and Naava Baer and Binyamin, Yaakov, Tehilla, Shmuel, and Ayelet Cohen, and over a dozen nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held, TODAY, Monday November 5th at Congregation Beth Sholom, 275 Camp St, Providence with burial in Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org/support, Congregation Beth Sholom, or any charity of your choice.
Shiva will be held at the following times and places:
Monday Evening: Maariv at 7pm, Shiva till 9pm at 123 Fourth Street, Providence.
Tuesday and Wednesday: Shacharit 6:45am, Shiva 7-11am and 1-5pm. Marriv is at 4:15pm at 123 Fourth Street. Evening Shiva is from 6:30-9pm at 44 Sargent Avenue, Providence.
Thursday and Friday: Shacharit 6:30am, Shiva 7-11am and 1-5pm. Maariv at 4:15pm at 123 Fourth Street. Evening Shiva from 6:30-9pm at 44 Sargent Avenue.
Saturday Evening: Shiva from 6:30pm-9pm at 44 Sargent Ave.
Sunday Morning: 8am Shacharit at 123 Fourth Street.
