Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond McMahon and Suzanne Rotelli. Kevin was a proud graduate of LaSalle Academy, Class of 1983. For 22 years he faithfully served his community through his work with the United States Postal Service and for the past eight years he was a dedicated employee at Amazon.
Kevin will be remembered for his warm heart, quick wit, and the kind, steady presence he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a gentle spirit that made others feel immediately at ease. A lifelong animal lover, especially of his beloved dogs, Kevin carried a deep compassion that touched people and animals alike.
He cherished his family above all else. Some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by those he loved most. A devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, Kevin rarely missed a game. His love of music and movies was endless, and nothing brought him more joy than listening to The Beatles, whose songs he shared with his family throughout the years.
Kevin is survived by his children, Kevin McKayven and Miranda Butcher; his identical twin and lifelong companion, Patrick McMahon, with whom he lived; and his sister, Karen McMahon. He was the cherished grandfather of Griffin McKayven and Dawson Butcher, and the loving uncle of Kelley McMahon, Meaghan McMahon, Samantha McMahon, Jessica Lowe, and Jerica Lowe. He also leaves behind his adored grandnieces and grandnephews, Sophie Veskovic, who held a very special place in his heart, as well as Jazymn Lowe, John O'Donnell Jr, Jackson Medeiros, Christopher DiBenedetto, Liam Ledo and Miles Ledo.
Family and friends are invited to gather in his memory on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 9:00–10:00 a.m. at the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Kevin’s kindness, humor, and love will remain forever in the hearts of those he touched.
